Fakhr-e-Qoum
THE PROJECT
Fakhr-e-Qoum brings the history and work of AHKN, Anjuman e Hussania Khawajgan Narowali, into a documentary of approximately ten minutes. The production needed to connect a century of heritage with the work of 17 departments, without losing the people or purpose behind the organisation.
PRODUCTION DIRECTION
As producer and director, I oversaw the project across research, scripting, production and post-production. Storyboarding mapped 51 scenes, helping the team balance aerial footage, dramatic sequences, departmental introductions and an interview within a compact running time.
Research before the camera
The process began with the organisation’s history and the work of its departments. The script distilled that material into a structure the viewer could follow, and the storyboard gave production a shared plan before filming.
A production with several visual languages
Aerial views establish scale and place. Dramatic scenes add emotional context, while departmental introductions and an interview bring specificity to the story. These elements were planned as parts of one film rather than separate promotional segments.
Respect within the frame
The presentation of the Khawajgan community required particular care. In sequences about zakat and sadaqat, direct faces were deliberately avoided. That choice kept dignity and cultural sensitivity central to the way the story was told.

Editing, visual effects, voice-over, sound effects and background music bring the different production elements into one narrative. The emphasis is on pace and clarity, with a consistent tone across the organisation’s history, current work and fundraising context.
